The Austal Auto Express H393 is the largest commercial ferry (by volume) the company has ever built at its shipyard in Henderson, Australia.
The 109 metre vessel can carry up to 1,000 tonnes and is capable of transporting more than 1,000 passengers and 425 cars. It will operate at speeds up to 40 knots.
This ship was a big deal, and Austal wanted a video series to showcase the quality of production that went into it. Over several site visits, our team used time-lapse technique to demonstrate pivotal moments of production. Drones and ground video were also employed to document sea trialling and test procedures.
The team flew from the vessel in addition to operating from a remote vessel to capture high-quality dynamic imagery. Camera stabilising gimbals were utilised in the vessel walk through to ensure consistent cinematic vision in line with the high level of construction of the vessel.
