First Nation
The Wadandi people are the Traditional Custodians, and have lived and breathed off this ancient land for over 40,000 years. It was and continues to be a place of plenty. The Aboriginal name for Busselton is Undalup after the warrior and leader Undal.
Storyboard
Busselton Jetty was one of the best-kept secrets in the world.
Extending 1.8 kilometres over the protected waters of Geographe Bay, the heritage listed jetty is the longest wooden-piled jetty in the Southern Hemisphere.
It had a reputation built around family friendly messaging with local market positioning, however with the influx of international students and families, Busselton Jetty needed to change their face to the world.
They turned to Osprey Creative to change all that, and fast.
Challenge
Our vision was to showcase the core of what makes this Western Australian icon so unique amongst a sea of domestic and foreign competitors. And ultimately, to raise the Jetty’s international brand awareness, pivot their positioning to speak to a different target audience and drive visitation.
Armed with deep market research, we unveiled a creative strategy to capture unique and eye-catching content that emotionally ties the target audience. We placed emphasis on the natural landscape and the wealth of amazing experiences and activities in the area.
